WELCOME TO CLCWA Inc
As the President of the College of Lactation Consultants Western Australia I welcome you to our website. Feel free to look at our pages and discover the work of the College as it endeavours to meet the educational needs of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) and those interested in breastfeeding and human lactation.
The College of Lactation Consultants Western Australia is an association that caters for IBCLCs primarily. However, all health professionals and those who work with organisations who are committed to breastfeeding find the educational program meets a high standard.
The College was founded in 1998 to support and promote breastfeeding, foster friendships and provide monthly education meetings for health professionals. Providing international and national speakers at biannual conferences has also been a major component of the College services.
Core business of the college however is the monthly education meetings which are held on the third Monday of each month February to November of each year. The business part of the meeting is kept very short and held from 6.45pm until 7.15pm. Following this, light refreshments are available between 7.15pm and 7.30pm and this is an ideal time to catch up with colleagues, friends and newcomers.
The education session follows this short break and runs from 7.30pm until 8.30pm.
The meetings are currently held at
Ngala – Meeting Room 1
9 George Street
Please enter the building from the front car park.
The monthly meetings held at Ngala are free to members however non-members can attend for a fee of $15.00.
A certificate of attendance is issued at all education meetings so those who are IBCLCs can claim Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs). These meetings are also suitable for those studying to become IBCLCs to claim as continuing education hours.
We look forward to seeing you at the next monthly meeting.
Further information about the upcoming monthly education program can be found here: 2020 Education Programme
Vale Linda Landsborough
Linda was a genuine and gentle force of nature because she engendered respect from everyone with her keen mind, her compassion, kindness, sincerity and solid integrity. Linda served with us on the College of Lactation Consultants committee for 10yrs where she held various positions, including President and Treasurer. It was such a joy to work with her and experience first hand all her special gifts. A quietly inspiring, beautiful human being. We are deeply saddened by her loss and will forever remember her with great fondness.
